Winfred E. “Buster” Williams, Sr., 88, of Mascoutah, IL, born May 1, 1936, in Pittsylvania, VA, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Buster retired from the United States Air Force as a civil engineer and retired from St. Louis University Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam war. Buster was a member of the American Legion Post 292 in Mascoutah and the Gear Jammers Car Club in Belleville, IL.
Buster is preceded in death by his parents, Otis A. and Eva, nee Nash, Williams, his wife Patricia Jean, nee Haas, Williams, who died on Feb. 12, 2014, and daughter-in-law, Mary Williams.
Buster is survived by three sons, Winfred “Freddy” Williams, Jr, Thomas “Tony” (Carolyn) Williams, Bobby (Judy) Williams all of North Carolina; two stepsons, William (Terry) Benton of Murphysboro, IL, David (Anne) Benton, Jr. of Edwardsville, IL; stepdaughter, Angela Johnson of New Memphis, IL; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, and six step great grandchildren.

VISITATION: Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at Moll Funeral Home with Father Brian Barker officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
