William F. Watson

Bill Watson, 86, of LaSalle, Illinois, passed away of cancer peacefully at the Cedar Ridge Care Center in Lebanon, Illinois.

Bill was born in 1938 to Mary and Dr. Francis Watson. He attended St. Bede High School, where he played football. Bill served in the Army and was honorably discharged. He worked at Libbey-Owens-Ford. He loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears and watched them faithfully.     He especially valued spending time with Ruben Alvarado and his lifelong friends, who became his family. In the last months of his life, he lived with his sister, Fran, in Mascoutah, Illinois.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jane Kuk (nee Watson).  Bill is survived by his sisters, Fran Flanagan (nee Watson) of Mascoutah, Illinois, and Patty Davis (nee Watson) of Blake Township, Mississippi, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL:  A funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL with Father Mark Stec celebrating.  Private burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery in La Salle, IL.
