Victor B. Albers

Victor B. Albers, 101, of St. Libory, IL, born Oct. 15, 1922, in Freeburg, IL., died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at Mercy Rehab and Care Center.
Mr. Albers was a lifelong farmer, and in his early years, he also drove for Dressler Trucking. Victor was a member of the St. Liborius Catholic Church, a son of the American Legion Post 683, St. Libory, IL, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and tending to his garden. However, his happiest place was being outside at the farm on his tractor.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clara, nee Kalkhoff, Albers, whom he married in St. Libory, IL on Feb. 27, 1946; parents, Henry and Angelina, nee Klein, Albers; sister, Ann Heitland; brother, Richard Albers; daughters, Rosemarie Grewe and Karen Tyler; and other family members.
Surviving are his children, Joanne (Myron) Hoerchler of Mascoutah, IL, David (Carol) Albers of Freeburg, IL, Victoria (John) Ellerbusch of Okawville, IL, Michael (Brenda) Albers of St. Libory, IL, Roger (Marisa) Albers of Shiloh, IL, Daryl (Theresa) Albers of Parsons, KS, and Robert (Mariann) Albers of Connersville, IN; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ken Tyler; a brother-in-law, Irvin Terveer of St. Libory, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

FUNERAL: A funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at St. Liborius Catholic Church with Father Paul Wienhoff celebrating.  Burial will follow in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery.
