Theresa E. Cauley

Theresa E. Cauley, née Freitas, 93, of Mascoutah, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Theresa was born on November 21, 1930, in New York City, New York. Theresa resided in Mascoutah after many years as a military wife.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother.  She devoted her life to her husband, Lloyd, her family, and cared deeply for her children and grandchildren.  Theresa was a deeply religious woman and served as a Eucharistic Minister and led the Rosary prayer before Mass at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, where she was a member for over fifty years.  Theresa enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the Mascoutah Senior Center, trying her luck at the casinos, putting together puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and doing cross stitch.  She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing horseshoes.  Theresa could spend hours window shopping or being out in the yard weeding and tending to her flowers and rose bushes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving sons, Robert Bossom and John Bossom, III.

She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Lloyd D. Cauley; her dearest daughter, Kathy Bossom Thompson (Beverly Soles); son, James (Rhonda) Bossom; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bossom; stepchildren, Daniel Cauley and Dominique Herbert; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: A funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Father Mark Stec celebrating.  Private burial will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
