Robert F. Klopmeyer, 91, of Mascoutah, IL, born Jan. 29, 1928 in Mascoutah, IL died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.
He was a retired coal miner and also a retired custodian from Mascoutah Community School District 19. He was affiliated with St. John United Church of Christ, a charter member of the Mascoutah Sportsman’s Club, a longtime member and supporter of the Mascoutah Moose Lodge and their affiliates, and a U. S. Army veteran. Robert enjoyed reading, history, gardening, hunting, fishing and was proud of his talent of knitting fishing nets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. and Irene, nee Zapp, Klopmeyer, Sr., Charles J. “Buster” Klopmeyer, Jr., a sister, Helen in infancy, sister-in-law, Carol D. Klopmeyer and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth G. Lewis and Hugh Miller.
Surviving are his brother, Jack J. Klopmeyer of Mascoutah, IL; a sister, Florence Miller of Clemons, IA; nieces and nephews, Susan (Harry) Friederich of Mascoutah, IL, Patti (Jim) Davis of Eldora, IA, Michael (Susan) Klopmeyer of South Elgin, IL, Grady (Ann) Lewis of New Sharon, IA, , James Klopmeyer and fiancé Julie of Indianapolis, IN; also numerous great nieces and great nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Visitation is from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Moll Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
