Robert E Ferri

Retired CMSgt. Robert E. “Chief” Ferri, 79, of Mascoutah, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Bobby, as he was known by his friends and family, was born in Providence, RI on November 10, 1938 where he resided for a number of years.
Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and retired after 30 years of service obtaining the rank of E-9 also known as Chief Master Sergeant which is the ninth and highest enlisted rank in the USAF.  During his service, Bob traveled and was stationed all over the world which included two tours of duty in Vietnam.  In his continued service to his country, Bob was also an investigator with FEMA and retired after over 10 years of civil service.  He was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past Post Commander of Scott VFW Post 4183.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell F. and Ruby N., nee Marcotrigiano, Ferri; his much loved former wife, Rosemarie, nee Hoeft, Ferri; and a sister in infancy, Joyce Ferri.

Surviving are his daughter, Diane Haas of Mascoutah, IL; a son, Robert (Kelly) Ferri of New Baden, IL; four grandchildren, Devin Haas (Taylor Koenig) and Alexis Hentschel of Mascoutah, IL, Camren and Jace Ferri of New Baden, IL; a brother, Russell (Kathy) Ferri of Cranston, RI; a sister, Betty (Ben) Herrman of Melbourne, FL; an aunt, Jenny George of Rhode Island; three nieces and numerous cousins.

Bob's family would like to thank his nurse Shawna and his aide Jennifer for their compassion and care.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Moll Funeral Home with the Father Gene Neff officiating.
