Nancy L. Hawthorne

Nancy Lee Hawthorne, nee Budde, 86, of Gamaliel, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Mountain Home, AR.

She was born on September 14, 1935, in Belleville, Illinois to Clarence and Helen, nee Rankin, Budde. Nancy worked as a nurses aide for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.  She was a hairdresser for Modern Beauty Salon in Mascoutah, IL, and was a long time bus driver for the Mascoutah School District.  Nancy was an avid quilter and loved playing cards and dominos.  She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Hawthorne whom she married in Forsyth, MO on July 7, 1954 and who died on Dec. 23, 1992; one grandson, Andrew Stein, brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one son, Ronald (Debbie) Hawthorne of Fayetteville, IL; three daughters, Chris (Craig) Niebruegge of Mountain Home, AR, Michelle (Mike) Chavez of Longmont, CO and Karen (Rick) O’Neill of St. Charles, MO; two brothers, Dan (Bonnie) Budde and Jim (Rida) Budde of IN; 15 grandchildren, Julie Rueter, Murph Rueter, Jennifer Rueter, Ryan (Misti) Hawthorne, Justin (Lori) Hawthorne, Steven (Cassie) Hawthorne, Ashley (Geoff) Hawthorne, Michael Hawthorne, Alex Stein, Alyssa Forsyth, Clayton Forsyth, Sarah (Tommy) Buehrle, Lindsey (Ryan) Jones, Lacy Niebruegge, and Eric Lucash; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation: From 11 to 2 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held 2 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Moll Funeral Home with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating.  Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
