Morris “Mo” G. Oltmann, 83, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 4, 1935, in Addieville, IL died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh, IL.
Mo was a sheet metal factory worker and worked for Prudential Insurance. Morris also managed the bowling alley in Mascoutah for many years. He was a member of the Mascoutah 700 Club, Mascoutah Police Commissioners Board, the Sheet Metal Union Local 202, managed Mascoutah Little League Baseball teams, and a veteran of the Air Force Reserves. Mo liked to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting activities, reading western novels, bowling, fishing, golfing, and cutting grass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alma C., nee Lunte, Oltmann; four brothers, Walter (Bernice), Wesley (Margaret), Norbert (Bernice), and Howard (Connie) Oltmann; father and mother-in-law, Randolph (Elva) Feldt; brothers-in-law, Orville, Arnie, and Rick Feldt, and Robert “Buck” Fochtmann.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, nee Feldt, Oltmann, whom he married on June 29, 1957 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL; two children, Scott (Anne) Oltmann of Mascoutah, IL, and Tracy Byer (David Wisneski) of Mascoutah, IL; three grandchildren, Luke (Tara) Pope of St. Louis, MO, Alex Oltmann of St. Louis, MO, and Abby Byer of Mascoutah, IL; one great-granddaughter, Nora Pope; brothers-in-law, Henry “Hank” Feldt and Randy (Donna) Feldt; sisters-in-law, Anita Fochtmann and Josie Burtis; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Per Morris’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a memorial celebration at a later date.
