Matthew Aaron Sprehe, born in Belleville, Illinois to Mark and Belinda (Bo) Sprehe, fell asleep in Jesus at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Illinois. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville on November 23, 1984, and was confirmed in the faith at Bethel United Church of Christ near Florissant, Missouri.
Preceding him in death were his father, Mark D. Sprehe and his grandfathers, Albert Sprehe and Jerry Edmonson.
He is remembered by his children, Matthew Jr., Conner, Sylvia, Caroline and Douglas Sprehe; his wife Melissa Sprehe; his parents Bo and Hugh Fitz, his brothers Andy (Jennifer) Sprehe, Jeremy (Gina) Sprehe, Paul (Chris) Fitz, and Joel Fitz, his grandmothers, Caroline Sprehe and Peggy Edmonson, numerous nephews and nieces, and friends.
In lieu of all other gifts, Matt's family encourages memorials to be donated for Father and Family Support Center, St. Louis. MO ( www.fatherssupportcenter.org. )
Visitation will be at St. John United Church of Christ, 55 West Church at North First in Mascoutah, IL, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
A Memorial Service will follow the visitation in the church at 3:00 pm. Burial of cremains is at Gilead Cemetery, Centralia, Illinois.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And so I am sure that nothing in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. [Romans 8]
