Matthew Ryan Hamann, 37, of Mascoutah, IL, born March 5, 1981 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL died Monday, October 8, 2018.
Matthew graduated from Mascoutah High School and Vatterott College in St. Ann, MO. He worked in the fields of HVAC and forklift operator and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah. Matt loved his dogs (Jaws and Hooch) and was always a kind, generous and loving person. Matt suffered from depression for many years and chose to end his life on October 8. His family and friends will deeply miss his smile and always remember him with love.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Jeanine Hamann and maternal grandparents, Russell and Gladys Griffin.
Surviving are his mom and dad, Kent (Jeanne) Hamann; a brother, Christopher (Taryn) Hamann; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Hamann; two nieces and one nephew, (Samantha Cameron and Hudson and Beau Hamann); also survived by an aunt , great aunts and great uncles.
