Mary L. Reed, nee Wolff, 71, of Mascoutah, IL born February 19, 1947 in Ogdensburg, NY passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Mary was raised in Ogdensburg, NY and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1965. She married Richard Reed on July 9, 1966 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg, NY. Mary retired in December 2011 after 32 years of Civil Service. She was a longtime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 7682. She held many offices over the years and was actively involved in Post activities. She also volunteered at the Mascoutah Visitors Center and enjoyed welcoming people to town. Mary’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting Alexandria Bay, NY whenever they visited family and friends from their hometown. She enjoyed reading, knitting, playing games, cards, helping others and keeping busy. Mary had a great love for her family and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, William and Bertha, nee Legault, Wolff, a sister, Sharon Wolff Brown, a brother-in-law, William Reed, Sr., two sisters-in-law, Patricia Davis and Judy Reed.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard C. Reed, Sr.; four children, Tammy (Thomas) Schulte of Mascoutah, IL, Shari Munier of Tempe, AZ, Richard (Jennifer) Reed, Jr. of Hudson, FL, Lori (Forrest) Reeves of Hendersonville, TN; eight grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Schulte, Megan Schulte, Stephen Schulte, Eric Munier, Evan Munier, Alexander Reed, Kylie and Max Reeves; three great-grandchildren, Erza, Gilean and Gabriella Schulte; a brother, George Wolff of Holiday, FL; a sister, Susan (Ronald) Mandigo of Ogdensburg, NY; a brother-in-law, Gerald (Sue) Reed of Ogdensburg, NY; two sisters-in-law, Ann (Jack) Townsend of Canton, NY, Barbara (Floyd) Mack of Ogdensburg, NY; David Munier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary’s family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and aides who helped care for her. They especially want to thank Memorial Care Center, Memorial Hospital, DaVita Dialysis Center and Heartland Hospice for the care they provided in her final days.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. There will be a 6:30 p.m. V.F.W. Auxiliary service Sunday evening.
Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Father Paul Wienhoff, officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
