She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown, then employed with Freeburg Care Center and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Cafeteria. She was a life-long member of St. Liborious Catholic Church having received all sacraments with this Parish. She was a devout servant of the Lord, took great comfort in the church, freely giving her time to the church’s activities and devotions over the years, and she loved praying the rosary. She was a member and past president of the Council of Catholic Women, creating numerous beautiful quilts. She was a member of American Legion Post 683 Auxiliary, and she worked for many years cooking uncountable pounds of fried chicken, mostaccioli and potato salad. She loved her yard and the beautiful flowers that bloomed throughout the year. She was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan, she enjoyed bowling and really loved playing cards, especially Euchre. The time spent with her many friends doing these things brought much joy to her life. She had a kind and generous heart, always giving what she could and saying yes when asked to help. She loved being with family, raising her children along with her brothers’ and sisters’ families, hanging out at the farm, watching her brothers play horseshoes, washing and setting her mom’s hair each week, and tending to the needs of her parents as they aged. She attended countless sports and school activities of her children, then of her grandchildren. She was most comfortable being a part of, but not the center of any gathering. Although divorced from her husband, Dennis Trentman, they remained amicable and continued to share family events and holidays. Our love for her only grew and deepened through all stages of her life – she will be missed.
