Margaret A Dixon

Margaret A. Dixon, nee Lake, 85, of Sparta, IL born Jan. 20, 1934 in Lively Grove, IL died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home.

She was a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal Company, a member of Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta, IL and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Sparta, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Catherine, nee Buss, Lake, her husband, Harold Dixon whom she married in Baldwin, IL on Sept. 13, 1981 and who died Dec. 16, 2015, two brothers, Vernon and Vincent Lake and two sisters, Rose Lake and Bernadette Sandheinrich.

She is survived by three daughters, Joan Austin of Alexander, VA, Barbara Sandheinrich (Linda Carpenter) of Sparta, IL, Mary (Jeff) Steibel of Columbia, IL; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Stein of Okawville, IL.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2019 and from 9 to 10 AM Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL with Father Tad Gegotek officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery.
