Lucinda C. Scheiper

   Lucinda C. Scheiper, nee Meier, 94, of St. Libory, IL, born Jan. 29, 1931, in Albers, IL, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at her daughter’s home in St. Louis, MO. 

   Lucinda was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and was a postmaster relief for the St. Libory Post Office. She was a member of the St. Liborius Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 683, Council of Catholic Women, and on the board of Catholic Fraternal Life in St. Libory. She enjoyed her time with quilting and always loved a good card game. 

   She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene J. and Mary P., nee Heckenkemper, Meier, husband, Leo F. Scheiper, whom she married on April 23, 1952 in Albers, IL, and who died on Feb. 1, 1996, siblings, Antoinette (Lawrence) Sommer, Linus (Bernadine) Meier, Dolores (Robert) Zurliene, Esther (Eugene) Dierkes, and Gerald Meier, sisters-in-law, Rose Scheiper, Clara (James) Dorbarakis, Flora (Richard) Dambacher, brothers-in-law, Otto (Myrtle) Scheiper, Frank Scheiper, Hugo Scheiper, and Joseph Kasban.

   Lucinda is survived by her three children, Theresa (Richard) Mannz of Troy, IL, Mark Scheiper of St. Libory, IL, Barbara (Randy) Latal of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Laura (Dan) Mannz Slawski, Jr., Aaron Latal, Lindsey Latal; sister-in-law, Agnes Kasban; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

   FUNERAL: A funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at St. Liborius Catholic Church with Father Mark Stec celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery, St. Libory, IL.
