Leah Kehrer

Leah Kehrer, nee Morstain, 57, of New Baden, IL, born May 6, 1964 in East St. Louis, IL died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.

Leah was a registered nurse at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where she was employed for 35 years and a member of St. George Catholic Church, New Baden, IL. Leah was a good friend and confidante to many and built lifelong relationships with many at Barnes. She enjoyed boating and socializing at Carlyle Lake and vacationing with friends. Her favorite times were Sunday Funday’s with Dale, friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene O. and Mary L., nee O’Haran, Morstain, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erwin and Marie Kehrer, two brothers-in-law, Brad Kehrer and Randy Cole, a niece, Mikaela Kehrer and two great nephews, Jacob and Thaddeus Kraus.

Leah is survived by her husband, Dale J. Kehrer, whom she married on July 16, 1993; son, Colton Hagen; daughter, Shelby Kehrer (Chad Nolan and daughter, Ember); siblings, Geno Morstain, Stacy (Jim) Kraus, David (Heather) Morstain, Amy (Greg) Munie, Jane (Brian) Stanhaus; in-laws, Jim Kehrer, Wayne (Sharon) Kehrer, Roger (Bridget) Kehrer, Shirley Cole, Nancy (Dennis) Brown, Pam (Joe) Fulfer, Bruce (Deb) Kehrer, Peggy (Dale) Staley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: From 2 to 6 PM Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. Facial coverings are required.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden, IL with Msgr. David Darin celebrating. Facial coverings are required. Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
