Larry G. Rigdon

Larry G. Rigdon, 70, of Smithton, IL, born Feb. 11, 1951 in Ste. Genevieve, MO died Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home.

Larry was a retired stationery engineer at the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis after 35 years of service, a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL and Knights of Columbus, Smithton, IL. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Larry enjoyed golfing, traveling, western movies, history and he was an avid cardinal baseball fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Rita, nee Schwartz, Rigdon, two sisters, Frances Brown, Alice Rigdon and a brother, Carl Rigdon.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Rigdon, nee Wilhelm, whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on Oct. 22, 1988; two daughters, Leslie Rigdon of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Gina Rigdon Gismondi of Portland, OR; a son, Ronald (Lisa) Rigdon of Fenton, MO; six grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three brothers, Bob Rigdon of Alton, IL, Tom (Leanna) Rigdon of St. Louis, MO, Charles (Judy) Rigdon of Arnold, MO; a sister, Maryann Storey of Gardnerville, NV; mother-in-law, Ruth Wilhelm; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron (Janet) Wilhelm, Larry (Colette) Wilhelm, Ken (Nancy) Wilhelm, Keith (Ann) Wilhelm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10 S. Lincoln St., Smithton, IL 62285.  Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com.

Visitation: From 4 to 7 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.  Social distancing will be required.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Smithton, IL with Father Stanley Konieczny celebrating. Facial coverings and social distancing are required at church, with a limited number of people in attendance at the funeral Mass.  Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
