Larry R Lands

Larry R. Lands, 75, of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 4, 1942 in Delta, MO, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at St. Louis University Hospital.

Larry was a retired school teacher from Mascoutah Community School District 19 after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah and a U. S. Army veteran. Among his many hobbies were starting and judging the Mascoutah Homecoming car show; stock car racing; fishing; attending auctions; coaching his son’s baseball team; genealogy and delivering meals on wheels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dolly, nee Copman, Lands, and his wife, Mabel D., nee Kaufman, Lands whom he married in Alhambra, IL on June 6, 1970 and who died March 6, 2009.

He survived by a son, Aaron (Kristen) Lands of Lebanon, IL; a daughter, Rebecca (Terry) Amburgey of Mascoutah, IL; a very proud grandpa of three grandchildren, Alex and Ethan Amburgey and Abbie Lands; brother, Don Lands and sister, Emma Lands both of Missouri; nephew and nieces, Noel Koller, Michelle Lands, Janis Stinson and Amberly Stollard.

Visitation: friends may call from 3 to 7 PM Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL and from 9 to 10 AM Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at St. John United Church of Christ.

Funeral: funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah with Pastor Hugh Fitz officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mascoutah City Cemetery.
