Joanne Hulliung

JoAnne Hulliung, nee Wilson, 84, of Mascoutah, IL, born May 10, 1940, in Kirkwood, MO, died Saturday Aug. 31, 2024, at her home.

JoAnne spent the majority of her career as the Executive Administrator for Fritz Electric in Belleville. She would later bring those skills to The Ruhl Company where she worked with her son and daughter-in-law to build their real estate practice. She retired in 2014 but stayed busy helping her husband Rene with both of his small businesses. JoAnne was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah.  Even as a busy working mom and wife, there was nothing she cherished more than spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas F. and Marguerite, nee Harrison, Wilson, stepmother, Marie, nee Eggers, Wilson, daughter, Tina Galbraith, brother-in-law, Stan Hitman, two stepbrothers, Wayne Altmansberger and John Altmansberger.

She is survived by her husband, Rene E. Hulliung; two sons, Todd (Kim) Ruhl, Tom (Kym) Galbraith; four grandchildren, Lexi (Dustin) Turner, Conner Ruhl, Libby and Layne Galbraith; a great granddaughter, Madeline Turner; sister, Susan Hitman; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
