Jack Riggs, Jr., 66, of Mascoutah, IL, born Oct 3, 1957, in Sumter, SC died Monday, June 10, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jack received a Bachelor of Science in nursing, working in various hospitals for 30 years. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, an enrolled member of the federally recognized tribe of Cheyenne Arapaho of Oklahoma and a United States Air Force veteran.
Jacks’s greatest joy in life was being a papa to Brynn and Monroe. He loved watching them play sports almost as much as he loved teasing his wife, Becky. He will forever be remembered for his inability to tell jokes and his contagious smile and laugh.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack, Sr., and Marlene, nee Pawpa, Riggs, a grandson, Shane, two brothers, Mike and Allen Riggs and his grandmother, Edna Cleveland.
Jack is survived by his wife, Rebeccah “Becky”, nee Smith, Riggs whom he married in Myrtle Beach, SC on Oct. 29, 1977; his children, Sean (Lauren) Riggs of Hendersonville, NC, and Jaclyn (Robert) Sneed of Mascoutah; five grandchildren, Brynn, Monroe, Kamea, Madilynne, Colton; great grandson, Oscar; brother, Keith Riggs; sister-in-law, Denise Bull; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his beloved dog, Daisy.
Jack’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Msgr. Bill McGhee and Rita Uhl for their support and kindness.
