Helen B. Friederich

Helen B. Friederich, nee Stumbaugh, 92, of Mascoutah, IL, born Mar. 27, 1929 in St. Louis, MO died Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Helen retired from Scott Air Force Base.  She was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, HCCCW (formerly Holy Childhood Altar Sodality), VFW Auxiliary Post 7682, Mascoutah, and Quilters of Holy Childhood Catholic Church.  Helen enjoyed going to the Mascoutah Senior Center, loved to read and watch action movies.  She loved to brag about her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys, nee Miller, Stumbaugh, her husband, Arthur J. Friederich, Sr., whom she married in St. Louis, MO on July 24, 1954 and who died on Feb. 10, 2009, three sisters, Mary Stumbaugh, Wilma Ellis, Wanda Welsh, one brother, James Stumbaugh.

Helen is survived by her two children, Arthur J. (Dianne) Friederich, Jr. of McLeansboro, IL, Rhonda (David) Hillebrand of Havre de Grace, MD; five grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Blades, Kelly (Bill) Carlile, Eric (Elise) Friederich, Robert Hillebrand, Jeffrey (Kari) Hillebrand; nine great grandchildren, Kaden, Alexa, Korie, Bradley, October, Blake, Emma, Ethan, and Logan; a brother, Robert (Vicki) Stumbaugh; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: From 10 to 12 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 12 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Father Paul Wienhoff celebrating.  Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
