Gerry was born on April 19, 1934, in the Squirrel Hill area in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. She lived most of her life in Monroeville, PA. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2023, in Belleville, IL.
Gerry was a life-long registered nurse and caregiver. She dedicated her life to caring for others. Her devotion as a caregiver was equally extended to helping animals in need. Gerry enjoyed many pastimes with her favorites being crochet, embroidery and traveling with her daughter and son-in-law whenever possible. She made it a point to visit them at every duty station during their 23-year Air Force career.
Gerry is survived by her daughter, Beth and her husband, Daryl Guill of Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Anna Bugel, and her husband, Joseph.
Respecting Gerry’s wishes, there will not be a formal service and she will be cremated in Mascoutah, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Folds of Honor or similar organizations supporting the families of wounded or fallen service members and first responders, as well as Randy’s Rescue Ranch and other similar organizations supporting homeless animals.
Gerry’s lifelong wish was for everyone to help and care for each other and to reach out to others in need. Her life was an example to us all.
