George P. Brown, Jr.

George P. Brown, Jr., 91, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 21, 1931 in Greeley, CO, died Monday, Mar. 13, 2023 at his home.

George retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief missile technician.  He served in the Marines during the Korean War and was a member of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cheyenne, WY.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George P. and Mildred, nee Bakerink, Brown, his wife, Jackalee J., nee Liebenau, Brown whom he married on July 25, 1953, in Greeley, CO and who died on May 14, 2022, his daughter, Renee Brown, and a sister, Angeline Darr.

He is survived by his two children, George Brown III of Mascoutah, IL, Robben (Jim) Daw of Mascoutah, IL; three grandchildren, Kimberly (R.J.) Potter, Jessica Eads, Jimmy Daw; five great grandchildren, Aidan, Alexis, Kaitlynn, Rileigh and Haley; and a nephew, Steve Darr.
