Dorothy Rosalie Voss, nee Kuxhousen, 94, of Swansea IL, born January 14, 1923 in South Bend, IN died December 11, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy grew up in Chicago, IL where she met Robert, to begin her new life adventure, waiting for his safe return from combat as a pilot in WW II, followed by setting up homes, both domestic and foreign, too numerous to mention, but probably 16 different times. Mother was a terrific cook and enjoyed making everyone’s favorite birthday dinner. Don’t forget square dancing, bridge playing, and her golf. Dad was envious of her hole-in-one at Scott AFB Golf Course and she insisted that golfers should walk. Mom loved to see her family and she did until her very last breath. Dad is calling me, and if it’s around cocktail time, make mine a bourbon on the rocks.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Nada) Voss of Aurora IL, Ronald (Diane) Voss of Mascoutah IL; a daughter, Pamela (William) Tottleben of Swansea IL; grandchildren, Robert (Emily) Voss, Heather (Jeremy) Bain, Kurt Rieckenberg, Benjamin Voss and dear friend, Amanda Ilag; great grandchildren, Henrik and Mira Bain; and a brother, Willard (Barbara) Kuxhousen of Sun City, FL.
She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mascoutah IL.
