Dorothy M. Roesel, nee Rutter, 92, of St. Libory, IL, born Oct. 15, 1926 in St. Libory, IL died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at Dammert Center, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Roesel was retired from SWIC (formerly Belleville Area College) after 16 years of service as a secretary in the Allied Health/Public Service Department. She was a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church, St. Liborius Altar Sodality, American Legion Auxiliary, St. Libory, IL and Belleville Sister Cities.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. and Elizabeth, nee Sommer, Rutter; her husband, Norbert A. Roesel, whom she married on June 10, 1950 in St. Libory, IL and passed away on Jan. 10, 2003; and a sister, Gertrude Rutter.

Surviving are two sons, Mark (Jolene) Roesel of St. Peters, MO, Carl (Donna) Roesel of O’Fallon, IL; two daughters, Renee (John) Javorek of Chesterfield, MO, Lee Ann (Harry) Luechtefeld of St. Libory, IL; four grandchildren, Shea (Todd) Wakeland, Beth (Jason) Milan, Luke Luechtefeld and Elyse (Max) Sallman; two step-grandchildren; great grandchildren; a sister, Jane F. Rutter of Fairview Heights, IL; a brother, Joseph G. (Franca) Rutter of Huntsville, AL

Visitation: Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL.

Funeral: Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at St. Liborius Catholic Church with Father Paul Wienhoff and Father Dennis Voss concelebrating. Burial will follow in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery.
