Dale Owen Elbe, 87, of Mascoutah, IL born Jan. 20, 1937, in East St. Louis, IL died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Silver Creek Assisted Living in Mascoutah.
Dale was a retired owner and operator of a trucking distribution company for many years. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL, 4th Degree Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus, Council 4380 and a U. S. Army veteran. Dale was a co-founder, along with Bud Jackson and Morris Oltmann, of the Pioneer Baseball team of the Mon-Clair Baseball League.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Alma, nee Schuchman, Elbe, his wife, Carol Jean, nee Barton, Elbe whom he married in East St. Louis, IL on Aug. 9, 1958, and who died Nov. 13, 2020, a grandson, Devon Elbe, and two brothers, Donald and Darryl Elbe.
Surviving are two sons, Doug (Christy) Elbe and Drew (Jana) Elbe; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Elbe, Shannon (Nick) Newton, Hannah (Rush) Oldfield, Wyatt (Rachel) Elbe and Amber Elbe; four great grandchildren, Odin, Kai, Harper and Emmett; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Father Mark Stec celebrating. Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
