Craig M. Jeffries

Craig M. Jeffries of Mascoutah, IL, born March 9, 1948, in Holyoke, MA, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home.

Craig was proud to have served his country for 20 years, five months, and 27 days, retiring from the US Navy as a Senior Chief Religious Program Specialist on October 31, 1990.  Proud father of three daughters, his favorite name for the past twelve years has been “Grandpa.” After fully retiring in 2010, he and Connie logged tens of thousands of miles on road trips to every corner of the US and across Europe.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Opal Irene (Harrison) and Marcellus E. Jeffries; and a sister, Margaret Gregory.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie (Funk), whom he married in 1975; three daughters, Wendy A. (Jason) Hanes, Sarah E. (Andrew) Thompson, and Beth J. (Christopher) Protenic; six grandchildren, Ainsley and Amelia Hanes, Lucas, Dexter and Ella Thompson, and Scarlett Protenic; a sister, Karen (Milton)Tolley; father-in-law, Kenneth Funk; brothers-in-law, Lee (Suzanne) Funk and Larry Funk; sister-in-law, Kathie Porter; 15 loving nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

VISITATION: Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of a life well-lived from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

FUNERAL: The celebration will conclude with a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Craig’s nephew, Jonah Porter. Full military honors will follow the service at Maple Park in Mascoutah, IL.
