Barbara J. Kendell

Barbara J. Kendell, nee Johannsen, 78, of Belleville, IL born Jan. 7, 1943 died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Barbara was a retired insurance agent and a retired office manager for medical practices.  She loved to travel, art, music, especially Elvis, driving fast, an avid reader and seeker of knowledge, she loved life and was a devoted Christian.  Barbara never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Marie, nee Postel, Johannsen, her husband, Dr. Worly Kendell, brother, Paul Postel, maternal grandparents, Urban and Erna Postel.

Surviving is her adopted son, Wes (Michelle) Wahlig; two granddaughters, Ella Birkneir, Alicia (Dennis) Jones; two great grandchildren, Piper and Beckett Jones; two aunts, Martha Postel, Louise Trabue; two cousins, Chris Atherton, Ann (Billy) York as well as their son Alex York; special friends, Mike (Jean) McDaniel, Megan (Rocky) LeBlanc; three furry faithful companions, Sam, Dave, and Butch.
