Arlene Mae Matthis

Arlene Mae Matthis, nee Wolf, 91, of Fairview, IL born Jan. 4, 1932, in East St. Louis, IL, died Friday, May 19, 2023, at MarKa Nursing Home, Mascoutah, IL.

Arlene was a retired legal secretary for numerous law firms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur H. and Mae G., nee Nielson, Wolf, a brother, Nelson Wolf, and a son-in-law, Rick Gerhart.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice (Michael) Murakami and Dr. Lois Richard; five grandsons, Timothy (Sara) Gerhart, Drew (Sarah) Gerhart, Noah Murakami, Kevin and Paul Richard; one great granddaughter, Lindsey Gerhart; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Per Arlene’s wishes, her body was donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine and no services will be held.
