Carolyn B Chaffin

Carolyn B. Chaffin, nee Wyman, 85, of Mascoutah, IL, born Jan. 26, 1932, in Mt. Vernon, ME, died Tuesday, Apr. 18, 2017 at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.

She was a retired medical secretary from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL and also Highland Hospital in Highland, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Chaffin whom she married in Louisville, KY on May 8, 1961 and who died Aug. 22, 1980, her parents, Frank and Vivian, nee Chesley, Wyman, six brothers, Frank, George, Raymond, Leon, Clyde, Ralph and three sisters, Emma, Lillian and Helen.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Damon (Stacey) Chaffin of Mascoutah, IL; two grandchildren, Meredith and Michael Chaffin; a sister, Barbara Turner of Mt. Vernon, ME; Damon’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law, Vonda Meredith and Rick Meredith; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: There will be no visitation.

Funeral: A graveside service will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Highland City Cemetery, 12301 Koepfli Lane, Highland, IL 62249 with Pastor Kirk Clayton officiating.
