Melvin E. Evans

Melvin E. “Mel” Evans, 75, of Mascoutah, IL born July 27, 1941 in Neosho, MO died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at MarKa Nursing Home, Mascoutah, IL.

He was a retired lineman for Ameren, a member of I.B.E.W., Local 309 West Frankfort, IL and a member of Mascoutah Sportsman’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin H. and Helen B., nee Miller, Evans.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann, nee Heyde, Evans whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on Nov. 10, 1960; his children, Cindy Hilkey, Mike (Sue) Evans and Heidi (Jeremy) Dickey, all of Mascoutah, IL; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Evans of Ohio; a sister, Helen Wilson of Belleville, IL;  a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: From 11 AM to 2 PM Wed. March 22, 2017 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: A graveside service will follow visitation at Holy Childhood Cemetery with Fr. Jerry Hechenberger officiating.
