Dorothy L. Schmersahl

Dorothy L. Schmersahl, nee Stein, 84 of Lively Grove, IL, born Jan. 13, 1933 in Marissa, IL, died Thursday, Mar. 9, 2017 at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL.

Dorothy was a homemaker and farm wife.  She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Jane, nee Jones, Stein; a brother Eugene Stein, five sisters, Florence Wirth, Eleanora Belcher, Lucinda Bense, Elizabeth Mueth, and Elsie Younglove.

She is survived by her husband, Michael F. Schmersahl who she married in Lively Grove, IL on April 15, 1953; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Stanley) Povolish of Nashville, IL, and Eleanora Buss of St. Libory, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, Mar. 13, 2017 and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 14, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL.

Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, Mar. 14, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove with Father Dennis Voss officiating.  Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Lively Grove, IL.
