Joan Isabella Dugan, nee Freeman, 81, of Mascoutah, IL, born Aug. 29, 1935 in
Cardiff Wales, Great Britain died Monday Dec. 26, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.
She was a homemaker, loved word puzzles and was an avid New York Times crossword puzzle solver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. and Isabella S., nee Erskine, Freeman; her husband, William Dugan whom she married in Cardiff Wales, Great Britain on May 18, 1957 and who died Aug. 8, 1992; and a sister, Iris Hicks.
Surviving are her children, Victoria Dugan of Mascoutah, IL, Rhonda Dugan of Bakersfield, CA, Anthony Dugan of Colorado Springs, CO; a grandson, Elliott Smith; two sisters and a brother, Dorothy Gilliam, Beryl Makkers, John Freeman, all of Cardiff Wales, Great Britain; brother-in-law, Bert (Jackie) Dugan of Chicago, IL; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: There will be a visitation from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held 12:30 PM Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at Moll Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Spratte officiating. Burial will follow at 1:45 PM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
