Anthony W Ptacek

Anthony W. “Tony” Ptacek, 83, of Mascoutah, IL born May 7, 1933 in Cudahy, WI died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at his residence.

Tony was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U. S. Air Force where he served 22 years as an Air Force attorney and also retired from civil service as an attorney.

One of his favorite past times was singing and acting. When he moved to the area he was extremely involved with the Looking Glass Theatre where he was paramount in the purchase of the building and acquiring their non-for-profit status. He served as president for numerous years. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, Lebanon Lions Club, Rotary Club and Singers Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances, nee Strnad, Ptacek and seven brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen, nee McNamara, Ptacek whom he married in Madison, WI on Sept. 2, 1957; four daughters, Debra (Michael) Stoner of Columbus, OH, Kay (Scott) Fratianne of Janesville, WI, Cynthia (Robert) Null of Granite City, IL, Laura (Carmen) Durso of Belleville, IL; a son, Steve (Tracy) Ptacek of Jacksonville, IL; grandchildren, Kenneth Stoner and Caitlin Hokanson, Jennifer Stoner, Bryan  Fratianne, Anthony and Tara Brasel, AJ and Jeanne Brasel, Amanda Brasel and Zach Bowman, Danielle and Paul Larsen, Kyle and Amy Durso, George Ptacek, Vince Ptacek; and a great grandchild, Remy Larsen.

Funeral: A private Mass will be held at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
