Robert Brian Jackson, MSgt, Ret., 59, of Fairview Heights, IL, born July 17, 1957 in Manila, AR, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Brian served in Special Forces in the US Army from 1976 to 1979 before enlisting in the US Air Force.  He served in the Air Force from 1980 to 2003 retiring as a Master Sergeant and then worked for the Civil Service in Accounting and Finance.  He was a Gulf War, Desert Storm and an Iraqi War veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alvina, nee Lemonds, Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, nee McNair, Jackson whom he married in Pinebluff, NC on June 14, 1979; a son, Brian Christopher (Karen) Jackson of O’Fallon, IL; a daughter, Genie (Cris) Wade of San Jose, CA; five grandchildren, Noah, Isaiah, and Shiloh Wade, and Caleb and Colten Jackson; stepmother, Helen Jackson of Van Buren, MO; dear friend, Jim (Tammy) Smith of Paragould, AR.

Visitation: visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Moll Funeral Home with Pastor Duane Smith officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
