John G. Weir

John G. Weir, 49, of Belleville, IL, born Jan. 28, 1967 in Long Beach, CA died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at John Cochran VA Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.

He was employed as a machinist at AAA Tool and Machine in O’Fallon, IL.

John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a U.S. Navy veteran where he was a qualified submariner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Pike.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl L., nee Watkins, Weir whom he married in Groton, CT on May 13, 1989; his father, Gary (Dolores) Weir of Tyler, TX; and his mother-in-law, Pat Watkins of Caseyville, IL.

Funeral: A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Christopher Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:30 PM in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
