Shirley E. Briscoe, nee Harris, 95, of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 8, 1921 in Lebanon, IL died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.
Shirley spent the early years of her life working at a hat factory, an Easter grass factory, a nursing home in Granite City, IL, and owning and operating a restaurant in Lebanon, IL. The latter part of her years she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ada, nee McDonald, Harris, her first husband, Edward Berner, her second husband, Charles Briscoe, a great granddaughter, Kasmine Anne Berner, two daughters-in-law, Betty Jo Berner and Judith Berner, 11 brothers and one sister.
Surviving are three sons, Joel Berner, Sr. of Mascoutah, IL, Paul Berner of Mascoutah, IL, Jonathan (Susan) Berner of Chester, IL; a step daughter, Joyce (Rich) Gilley of O’Fallon, IL; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; a sister-in-law, Elsie Harris; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral: A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at Moll Funeral Home with Barbara Van Ausdall officiating. Burial will follow in College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
