Russell W. "Rusty" Swader

Russell W. "Rusty" Swader, 94, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 22, 1921 in Ridgway, IL, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at Silver Creek Assisted Living Facility in Mascoutah, IL.

Russell was a retired auto mechanic from Auffenberg Ford in Belleville, IL and was also retired from the City of Mascoutah.  He was a WW II U. S. Army veteran.

Russell was a hard working and deliberate man who was devoted to his family.  He especially enjoyed sport fishing and boating.  He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him, but also celebrated as he enters God’s holy presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Laura, nee Barton, Swader; and his wife, Irene, nee Klingelhoefer, Swader whom he married in Belleville, IL on June 18, 1955 and who died Aug. 11, 2007.

In the United States of America he is survived by a son, James (Mindy) Slack of Champaign, IL; two grandchildren, Ryan (Rania) Slack of Dallas, TX, and Kacie (Ryan) Hastings of Tolono, IL; two great-grandchildren, Roman and Ezekiel “Zeke” Hastings; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In Australia he is survived by a son, Brycen (Pam) Swader of Brisbane, Queensland (QLD); a daughter Delma (Eldridge) Strout of Brisbane, QLD; six grandchildren, Brycen (Jodie) Swader Jr. of Stanthorpe, QLD, Khylea (Will) Riley of Bribie Island, QLD, Jody Swader of Brisbane, QLD, Tony Strout of Cabooture, QLD, Steven (Caitlin) Strout of Brisbane, QLD, Michael (Tracy) Strout of Calbar, QLD; seven great-grandchildren, Jamey, Andrew, Jazmin, Krysti, Bailey, Larissa and Riley; three great-great-grandchildren, Sienna, Chelsea and Cayden.

Funeral: A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Spratte officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
