David William Lembke

David William Lembke, 74, of Mascoutah, IL born Dec. 16, 1941 in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at his residence.

Dave was a local banker for over 50 years and a founding member and director of Citizens Community Bank in Mascoutah. He was also a lifelong farmer and loyal fan and supporter of the University of Illinois

Dave graduated from Mascoutah High School in 1959, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in 1963 and is a 1978 graduate of the School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin. He is affiliated with St. John U.C.C., Mascoutah and a U.S Air Force Reserve veteran. He was a member of Mascoutah Chamber of Commerce for over 50 years; treasurer 40 years for Mascoutah Community Lanes and 8 years for Mascoutah Swimming Pool; member of Mascoutah Evening Lions for over 50 years with perfect attendance and past treasurer and president; St. Clair County Farm Bureau; U of I Marching Illini and Alumni; Mascoutah Alumni Band; he was Mascoutah Evening Lions ‘Man of the Year’ and Melvin Jones recipient; Mascoutah Chamber of Commerce ‘Man of the Year’; received the Mascoutah Schools Achievement Award; member of the Mascoutah Police Pension Board; former president of St. Clair/ Monroe Bankers Federation; member of the Mascoutah Historical Society and Shiloh Valley Grange.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Vesta E., nee Griffen, Lembke and a sister Martha in infancy.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara, nee Christ, Lembke whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on Jan. 13, 1973; his children, Chris (Jill) Lembke of Swansea and Jaime (Andy) Swedrowski of Algonquin, IL; grandchildren, Adelyn, Hayden, Luke Lembke and Logan Swedrowski; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, MaryLou (Al) Schlueter, Kathy (Rich) Williams, Darlene (Phil) Ribbing, Debbie (Jeff) Cameron, all of Mascoutah, IL; and lifelong friend, Dan Dietz.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah and 11 to 12 PM Monday, May 9 at St. John U.C.C., Mascoutah.

Funeral: A funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. John U.C.C with the Rev Hugh Fitz and Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
