Charles Ray Hayes

Charles Ray Hayes, 64, of Belleville, IL, born Apr. 26, 1951, in Florence, AL, died Tuesday, Apr. 5, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Charles was a retired TSGT from the United States Air Force, a Vietnam veteran, and life member of the Scott VFW Post 4183.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Margaret, nee Woodall, Hayes; and three brothers, Archie, Junior, and Douglas Hayes.

He is survived by his wife, Debra, nee Haley, Hayes whom he married in Belleville on Dec. 3, 1982; a son, Kevin (Tiffany) Hayes of Fairview Heights, IL; a daughter, Tina (Ben) Hayes-Smith of St. Charles, MO; two grandchildren, Nathan and Jillian Smith; a brother, Jerry (Pat) Hayes of Lakeville, IN; three sisters, Betty Carroll of St. Louis, MO, Joyce Campbell of Huntsville, AL, and Lois Strait of Florence, AL.

Visitation:  There will be no visitation.

Funeral:  A military graveside service will be held 9 AM Friday, Apr. 8, 2016 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
