Benjamin L. Mueller, 78, of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 15, 1938, in Mascoutah Twp., IL, died Friday, Mar., 4, 2016 at his residence.
Ben worked at Eagle Range Co. in Belleville; was a farmer; he was retired from Notre Dame Hills Surgical Center in Belleville; worked part-time for Mascoutah School Dist. 19; and had a lawn mowing business. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL; Holy Childhood Church choir; former member of Holy Name Society; the Mascoutah Moose Lodge 815; past trustee for Engelmann Township; St. Clair County Farm Bureau; and he served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Rosa, nee Ottensmeier; Mueller, three brothers, Alfred, Francis “Tony”, and Martin Mueller; six sisters-in-law, Aline, Rosalie, Pearl, Mary Ann, and Rosemary Mueller, and Patricia Frankovich.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Joanne, nee Haas, Mueller whom he married at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah on Feb. 23, 1960; his children, Beth (Allen Phelps) Mueller of Dupo, IL, Jeffrey (Beth) Mueller of Mascoutah, IL, Bruce (Denise DeMarse) Mueller of Belleville, IL, Phyliss (Jim) Kaiping of Columbia, IL, and Bonnie (Jason) Warner of Belleville, IL; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Jenny) Mueller, Kurtis (Jessica Huff) Mueller, Kevin Mueller, Donyelle DeMarse, Hallie and Emma Kaiping, River and Willow Warner; three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jadon Lorton, and Hope Mueller; 10 siblings, Ralph (Norma) Mueller of New Baden, IL, Johanna Mueller of New Baden, IL, Jerome (Sally) Mueller of Belleville, IL, Mary (Vincent) Hogg of Lebanon, IL, twin brother, Benedict Mueller of Troy, IL, James (Pat) Mueller of Glendale, KY, Lawrence (Thelma) Mueller of Fairview Heights, IL, Richard Mueller of Henderson, TN, Phillip (Linda) Mueller of Trenton, IL, and Thomas (Karen) Mueller of New Baden, IL; a sister-in-law, Rosalie (Dave) Lauermann of Woodstock, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
