Ronald J. Schroeder, 70, of Belleville, IL, born Nov. 24, 1945 in Belleville, IL, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Ron was a retired farmer and retired shop foreman from B & D Machine Shop in Marissa, IL. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; member and past Exalted Ruler of the Belleville Elks Lodge 481; member of the American Legion Post 58 of Belleville; the St. Clair County Farm Bureau; and a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran. Ron was always tinkering doing work with his hands. He enjoyed boating, travelling, camping, and loved spending time with his family.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clara, nee Stoff, Schroeder; two brothers, Leroy and Jerry Schroeder; brother-in-law, Roy McAfee; and sister-in-law, Sandra Depper.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna, nee Keller, Schroeder whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on Sept. 6, 1965; three sons, Callan Schroeder of Mascoutah, Jeffrey (Lisa) Schroeder of Mascoutah, and Jason (Trisha) Schroeder of Belleville; five grandchildren, Emily, Adam, Nicholas, Owen, and Ashlyn Schroeder; a sister, Glenda McAfee of Belleville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean (Don) O’Mara of Crestwood, MO, and Barbara (Don) Weisenstein of Belleville; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Visitation: visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: funeral services will be held 7 PM Thursday Feb. 4, 2016 at the funeral home with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Cremation will take place according to Ron’s wishes.Moll Funeral Home
