Kevin M. Gordon

Kevin M. Gordon, 60, of Mascoutah, IL born May 5, 1955 in East St. Louis, IL, died Tuesday, Jan, 26, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Kevin dedicated his life to the service of others as a hero in blue serving in law enforcement for 24 years. He was Chief of Police for the Mascoutah Police Department from 1993 through 2005. Kevin served as patrolman and sergeant with the Cahokia Police Department from 1981 until 1993. He proudly spent his retirement as president of the United States section of the International Police Association collaborating worldwide with his many brothers in blue. Kevin was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL.  He enjoyed travelling, camping, sitting in his backyard with a campfire, and spending time with his beloved family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Irene A., nee Micheal, Gordon; a nephew, Vince A. Gordon; and loving pets, Ivy, Scotti and Stranger.

Surviving are his wife, Beth, nee Kastner whom he celebrated 40 years of wedded bliss on Dec. 26; his children, Adam (Erin) Gordon of Belleville, IL, Todd Gordon of O’Fallon, IL, and Sarah Gordon of Mascoutah, IL; three grandchildren, Aidan, Elizabeth, and Abigail; three sisters, Sandra Gordon of Fargo, ND, Dolores Gordon of Mascoutah, IL, Joyce (Joseph) Rogers of Maumee, OH; a brother, Kim Gordon of St. Charles, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 and from 9 to 10 AM Sat. Jan. 30 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: A memorial Mass will be held 10 AM Sat. Jan. 30, 2016 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Wienhoff and Msgr. John Myler concelebrating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dupo, IL.
