Janet Marie Palmeri

Janet Marie Palmeri, nee Bell, 70, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 17, 1945 in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at her residence.

Janet retired from an office management job to spend time with her grandkids. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Belleville; Alders Gate Group; past member of Belle Valley Mothers’ Club; was a former member of the Panorama Bowling League; and the leader of a meadowdale neighborhood group.  Janet mostly enjoyed countless years being the best grandma and passing on a legacy of memories, including baking, cooking, and get-togethers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustus and Rita, nee Schaefer, Bell; and a sister, Julia in infancy.

Surviving are her husband, Torre L. Palmeri whom she married in Belleville, IL on July 6, 1995; three children, Jeff (Tina) Underwood of Columbia, IL, Janna (Michael) Schmitt of Mascoutah, IL, and Jamie (Richard) Collins of Mascoutah, IL; two stepchildren, Jason Palmeri of New York, NY, and Leah (Stephen) Wilhelm of Baltimore, MD; 11 grandchildren, Jenna (Hunter) Swift, Jill and Jodie Schmitt; Jaren Underwood, Quentin, Roman, and Jada Collins; Griffin, Mallory, and Margo Underwood; and Deanna Wilhelm; two brothers, James (Michele) Bell of Swansea, IL, and Jerry (Camille) Bell of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Jackie Bell of Nashville, IL, and JoAnn (Joe) John of Smithton, IL; numerous nieces and nephews..

Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 6 PM Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at Moll Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Weston officiating.  A private graveside service will be held on Monday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
