Cletus A. Voegele

Cletus A. Voegele, 93, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 9, 1922 in Engelmann Township, IL, died Oct. 24, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Cletus was a retired farmer; member of Holy childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; St. Clair County Farm Bureau; and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4380, Mascoutah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Lena, nee Friederich, Voegele; his wife, Jeanette I., nee Geiger, Voegele whom he married on May 2, 1970 in Highland, IL and who died Nov. 15, 2010; and a sister, Gertrude (Cletus) Walter.

He is survived by a daughter, DiAnn (Glenn) Roth of Mascoutah, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alice (Roger) Vonland of Highland, IL, Delores Geiger of Alhambra, IL, Dorothy Lewis of Highland, IL, and Francis “Jake” Geiger of Hamel, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.  There will be a prayer service 4 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: a funeral mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating.  Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
