Edna C Bowers

Edna C. Bowers, nee Laux, 83, of Mascoutah, IL born April 24, 1932 in Mascoutah Township died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

She was a retired teacher’s aid from Mascoutah School District 19 after 26 years of service and a member of First Baptist Church, Mascoutah. Edna was a beloved mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Bowers whom she married in Mascoutah, IL on Sept. 27, 1952 and who died June 6, 2000, her parents, Hubert and Jorene, nee Blake, Laux and three brothers, Carl, Forrest and Robert Laux.

Surviving are her children, Steve (Ann) Bowers of Mascoutah, IL, Kathy Worley of Queen Creek, AZ; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Robinson of Naples, FL; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Mascoutah.

Visitation :  visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah; and from 9 to 10 AM Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral :  funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Burton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mascoutah City Cemetery.
