Troy L. Sauerhage, 80, of Mascoutah, IL, born Aug. 22, 1935 in Campbell Hill, IL died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 as a result of a drowning accident.

Troy was a retired farmer and bus driver for the Mascoutah School District and also retired as Engelmann Township Highway Commissioner. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of the Mascoutah Sportsman’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife Annette A., nee Canepa, Sauerhage whom he married in St. Louis, MO on April 29, 1961 and who died July 15, 1992, his parents, Henry and Olinda, nee Beck, Sauerhage, three brothers, Adrian, Ernest and Lawrence Sauerhage and three sisters, Geraldine Steffen, Roma Walker and Caroline McKinney.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Cheryl) Sauerhage of Litchfield, IL, Christopher Sauerhage of Mascoutah, IL; a grandson, Adam Sauerhage; two brothers, Charles (Helen) Sauerhage of Mascoutah, IL, Ralph (Betty) Sauerhage of Elkton, IL; two sisters, Kathleen Rueter and Loretta (Stanley) Seering, both of Mascoutah, IL; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation : Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral : A funeral service will be held 10 AM Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at Moll Funeral Home with Pastor Kirk Clayton officiating. Interment will be in Holy Childhood Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
