Ray E. Canterbury, 71, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 24, 1943 in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Ray was an accountant for the VA offices in downtown St. Louis; he served in the US Air Force; was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Mascoutah; and a 46 year member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM #0576 in O’Fallon, IL. Ray enjoyed talking with his friends over coffee every morning at Sax Speedi Check in Mascoutah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra, nee Schack, Canterbury whom he married in Belleville, IL on Dec. 21, 1971 and who died Sept. 2, 2006; his parents, Hawley and Alice, nee Titter, Canterbury; and a sister, Barbara Brooks.
Surviving is his daughter, Kimberly (Dale) Kammler of Mascoutah, IL; three grandchildren, Auston, Brandon, and Emily Kammler of Mascoutah, IL; a brother, Alan (Jackie) Canterbury of O’Fallon, IL; a sister, Marsha (Bill) Jones of Salt Lake City, UT; his Aunt Jennie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation : visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL. A Masonic service will be held at 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral : funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 at Moll Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Souders officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
