Rose Marie Zinck, nee Matthes, 85, of rural Addieville, IL, born Sept. 19, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Rose was a homemaker and in her early years was a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL; Ladies Sodality; she taught religion for many years at St. Anthony’s Parish; and was a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Matthes and Margaret, nee Aubuchon, Matthes Streckfuss; her stepfather, Charles Streckfuss; a daughter, Debra Zinck; a son, Stephen Zinck; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Theckla Zinck; a brother, Thomas Streckfuss; two sisters, Mildred Matthes, and Jean Wieland; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dorothy and Joe Lanter.

Surviving are her husband, Harvey S. Zinck whom she married in St. Louis, MO on July 25, 1959; three children, Cynthia (Steven) Hundelt of Darmstadt, IL, Andrew Zinck of Mascoutah, IL, and Cheri (Edmund) Kurtz of Stone Church, IL; six grandchildren, Christina (John) Segelhorst, and Bradley (Ashley) Hundelt of Venedy, IL, Ryan (Laura) Zinck of Mascoutah, IL, Derek (fiancé Brittany) Zinck of Swansea, IL, Clara (Eric) Dressler of St. Libory, IL, and Cole Kurtz of Stone Church, IL; two great-grandchildren, Emmett Segelhorst and Joseph Dressler; four brothers, William Matthes of Oakville, MO, Joseph (Carol) Streckfuss of Arnold, MO, Robert (Jan) Streckfuss of Arnold, MO, and Terry (Claudia) Streckfuss of Imperial, MO; two sisters, Dona (Norbert) Zinck of Addieville, IL, and Susan Streckfuss of Arnold, MO; two brothers-in-law, Donald Wieland of Imperial, MO, and Ralph Zinck of Belleville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Building Fund; St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund; Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63132; or for Masses.

Visitation: visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 and 9 to 10:30 AM Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL. A prayer service will be held 4 PM Wednesday afternoon at the church.

Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove with Father Steven Poole and Father Ray Engelhart officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Lively Grove, IL.
