Loretta M. Frederking

Loretta M. Frederking, nee Albers, 94, of Okawville, IL, born Sept. 21, 1920 in Lively Grove Township, IL, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 at Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville, IL.

Loretta was a homemaker and also worked five years at the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville.  She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Okawville, IL; St. Barbara’s Altar Sodality; Okawville American Legion Auxiliary; and the Okawville Red Hat Ladies.  She enjoyed her loving family, playing cards, quilting, and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dora, nee Wienstroer, Albers; her husband, Erwin W. Frederking whom she married in Fayetteville, IL on Feb. 19, 1949 and who died Oct. 26, 1997; a son, Daniel Frederking; sisters, Dorothy Lake Juenger, Virginia Gaubatz; brothers, Ardell and Eugene Albers; and four siblings in infancy.

Surviving are her children, Richard Frederking of Pinckneyville, IL, Darrel Frederking of Okawville, IL, Jorene (Larry) Thoeming of Okawville, IL, Durwin (Tammy) Frederking of Okawville, IL, Ben (Babs) Frederking of Okawville, IL, Janet (Richard) Reno of Swansea, IL, and June Frederking of Okawville, IL; seven grandchildren, Jesse (Sarah) Thoeming, Travis Thoeming, Lucas (Meagan) Frederking, Brent (Melissa) Frederking, Jacob Frederking, Kari (Chris) Cretini, and Ryan Foster; two great-grandchildren, Philip and Nathan Cretini; three sisters, Juliet Frederking of Okawville, IL, Charlotte (Daniel) Wombacher of Mascoutah, IL, Sandra (Robert) Klein of Fairview Heights, IL; a brother, Walter (Viola) Albers of Okawville, IL; a sister-in-law, Pat Albers of Freeburg, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of all other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Barbara’s Altar Sodality; the Okawville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, 205 N. Hanover, Okawville, IL 62271; or the Okawville Senior Center, 305 N. Nashville, Okawville, IL 62271.

Visitation: visitationwill be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 and 9 to 10 AM Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Okawville, IL.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at St. Barbara’s  Catholic Church, Okawville, IL with Father Steven Poole, Father Kenneth York, and Father Elmar Mauer OMI officiating.  Burial will be in St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery, Okawville, IL.
