Edwin A. Lickenbrock

Edwin A. Lickenbrock, 90, of Mascoutah, IL, born March 17, 1924 in St. Libory, IL, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Edwin started work for Mascoutah Equipment Co. in Mascoutah in 1949; he became a co-owner in the business in 1979 and retired in 1989.  He also farmed part time with his brothers.  He was a member of the Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; former longtime member of the American Legion; was a WW II Air Force veteran; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Clara, nee Mense, Lickenbrock; his wife Elvira  “Vera”, nee Wesselmann, Lickenbrock whom he married in St. Libory, IL on May 9, 1951 and who died on July 11, 2003; three brothers, Robert, John, and Hugo Lickenbrock; and two sisters, Rosemary Wesselmann, and Anne Juenger.

He is survived by his son, Kevin (Karen) Lickenbrock of Webster Groves, MO; five grandchildren, Andrew, Amy, Matthew, Madeline, and Emily Lickenbrock of Webster Groves, MO; a brother, Otto (Elgene) Lickenbrock of Brentwood, MO; a sister-in-law, Florence Lickenbrock of St. Libory, IL; dear nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorials may be made to Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund.

Visitation: Visitation is from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.  A prayer service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Fr. Paul Wienhoff officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
